Former West Indies captain Jason Holder recently revealed ‘Bhindi’ or okra is his favourite Indian dish in a rapid-fire interview. The question and answer session saw him get candid and answer some interesting questions. The Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder had to give a single word that comes to his mind regarding a certain topic.

And consequently, when the interviewer asked him about Indian food, Holder’s immediate response was ‘Bhindi’. The next word in the segment was ‘hattrick’ referring to Holder’s hattrick against England in January. The 31-year-old responded ‘Kensington Oval’, which is the ground where he achieved the milestone.

The next word given to him was ‘Bollywood' in the rapid-fire session with FanCode to which Holder responded ‘Shah Rukh Khan.’ The Barbadian explained his answer by talking about his association with Khan as he played for Kolkata Knight Riders- a franchise co-owned by him in the Indian Premier League. Then he was asked about ‘Michael Holding’ and Holder’s answer was ‘Boss’.  He then spoke on Holding’s  ‘rhythmic’ approach to the crease and the ‘brutality’ he executed with his bowling.

After a successful T20 tour against England, where Jason Holder won the Player of Tournament award, both teams are going head to head in a three-game Test Series in West Indies. The hosts had a great start to their first innings as they reduced England to 48 for four. Then thanks to Jonny Barristow’s century and valuable knocks by Ben Stokes, Ben Foakes and Chris Woakes, the Brits managed to put 311.

The Windies later had a solid start of 85 runs, where they lost their first wicket and since then, the hosts have batted with grit and purpose as they ended their first innings at 375, taking a lead of 64 runs.
