Defending champions Manchester City made a sensational comeback in their third Premier League 2022-23 fixture to draw the match against Newcastle United at the St James' Park on Sunday. City star Kevin de Bruyne made a wonderful assist to Bernardo Silva to salvage a point from their away fixture.

Manchester City started the game on a high note as they were on the scoresheet in just five minutes, thanks to Ilkay Gundogan's strike. However, the home side responded strongly as Allan Saint-Maximin produced two assists in the first half to give his team a 2-1 lead.

For the equalizer, City playmaker Kevin de Bruyne spotted his teammate Silva's run and played a brilliant through ball, which was finished calmly by the 28-year-old Portuguese.

Watch the beautiful pass by Kevin de Bruyne:

Miguel Almiron equalized from Saint-Maximin’s cross in the 28th minute after the VAR allowed the goal. While 10 minutes later, Callum Wilson finished superbly from the French winger’s pass. Adding to City's misery, Kieran Trippier scored the third goal for the home team with a brilliant freekick from 20 yards in the starting 10 minutes of the second half.

However, Manchester City bounced back after the hour mark as new signing Erling Haaland and midfielder Bernardo Silva found the back of the net to grab a point from the entertaining match.

After the draw, Newcastle United are currently at the sixth spot with one win and two draws in the Premier League this season while Manchester City are on the second spot behind table toppers Arsenal.
