Six-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez along with Johann Zarco escaped a fatal injury in a horrifying collision during the German Grand Prix practice session. The incident occurred during the second lap when Marquez, prepared to take a right turn, lost balance and slid onto tarmac. As the GP champion skidded off the tarmac, his Honda collided with Zarco's, who was in front of him.
The impact of the collision was so heavy that Zarco’s bike broke into two pieces. However, nobody was injured, and both were able to take substitute bikes and arrive back on the track. Though both the drivers did not sustain any injury, Zarco took a little longer to get back on his feet, but once the marshals came to check on his condition, he was able to stand up and walk off the circuit. Meanwhile, a yellow flag quickly became a red flag, and the session came to an end with three minutes and seven seconds remaining.

The incident was a near-miss for both the riders, but it has surely put Marquez’s safety under intense scrutiny. Earlier this season, the Honda rider lost his grip and bounced off the seat. However, many of his competitors have different views on who should actually be blamed for the high-profile incidents involving the Spaniard this season. In a bizarre incident in the season opener in Portugal, he took out Miguel Oliveira and Jorge Martin and received a penalty and injury that ruled him out of the three Grand Prix.
