Atletico Madrid’s Marcos Llorente pulled Lionel Messi's celebration after he scored a goal in the Madrid Derby on February 5, Monday (IST). Real Madrid hosted Atletico Madrid in a high-octane Madrid derby at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid. While Los Blancos aimed to extend their lead over their counterparts. While the hosts gained a lead in the 20th minute of the game, Atletico Madrid held their nerves and drew 1-1, courtesy of Llorente’s 93rd-minute equaliser.
The game soon took an interesting turn, when Llorente thought his side levelled the game in the opening minutes of the second half. However, VAR intervened and ruled out Setfan Savic’s header. After the header, the 29-year-old pulled Lionel Messi celebration and pointed his fingers toward the sky as a sign of acknowledging the performance to the higher power. However, Llorente emerged as the hero for his side when he scored the equaliser in the last few minutes of the game.
