Norwegian midfielder and Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard revealed his football idols while he was growing as a professional footballer. The 26-year-old revealed that he changed his idols at different stages of his life and also mentioned names of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo along with David Silva and Fàbregas. Apart from that, he also mentioned the names of a few former Arsenal players that he would like to bring back to play alongside at present.

During his interview with ESPN UK, the host asked Martin Odegaard, “Who was your football idol growing up and did you ever get to meet them?” To his Odegaard replied, “It was, like, different stages. It was Messi at a point, Ronaldo at a point. Then I was a big fan of David Silva as well, Fabregas. There were a lot of players I was watching on YouTube all the time and try to learn. So it wasn’t like one, but to be fair I have played them or met them later in my career, pretty much all of them, so that pretty cool.”

After that, the host asked Martin Odegaard to pick one former Arsenal player to play alongside him at present. To this, Odegaard replied with, “The natural one to say, I would essay in Henry.” He continued, “But I loved Fabregas and I also loved Cazorla. I am gonna go with Fabregas man.”

Speaking further, Martin Odegaard also took a hilarious dig at his Arsenal mate Oleksandr Zinchenko and said that he would be one player that he’d least like to get stuck in a lift with as he talks too much.

“He (Zinchenko) speaks too much,” Martin Odegaard laughed while saying this jokingly. He further also added that apart from talking too much, Zinchenko also speaks very fastly.
