India’s pace sensation Mayank Yadav has been the talk of the town after his brilliant 150-plus kph deliveries once again rattled the opponents' batting lineup. In the match number 15 of IPL 2024, which was played between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), it was the visiting side that came out victorious with a 28-run margin at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

After being invited to bat first, the LSG posted 181 runs on the board, courtesy 56-ball 81 from Quinton de Kock and a quickfire 40* off 21 deliveries by Nicholas Pooran. But in a pursuit of 182-run target, the Faf du Plessis-led RCB could not chase the total and got bundled out for 153 in 19.4 overs. Once again, it was LSG pacer Mayank Yadav who scalped three wickets in his four-over spell.

The 21-year-old notably broke his own record to produce the fastest spell of IPL 2024. While his previous best was clocked above 155 kph in LSG’s win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Lucknow, he clocked 156.7 kph in the game against RCB on Tuesday. Moreover, he became the first bowler to clock over 155kph thrice in the tournament’s history.  Check the top betting trends on the  best betting sites in India  and apps.

It is to be noted that earlier it was Umran Malik to do so. The Jammu & Kashmir-born pace sensation, who currently plays for SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL, could do it only twice after playing 26 games.

My aim is to play for India: Mayank Yadav after his Man of the Match award vs RCB

Yadav, who has been spitting fire with the ball in his hand, spoke of playing for India as his ultimate goal. Speaking after having won his second POTM award in match against RCB on Tuesday, April 2, the 21-year-old added that he will continue to focus on his goal with consistent pace.

“I feel very good, winning two Player of the Match awards, but I am happier that we won both the matches. My aim is to play for India as much as possible. So I feel this is just the start and my main goal is what I am focussed on,” he said at the post-match presentation on Tuesday night.

Furthermore, when asked about his favourite wicket in match against RCB, the 21-year-old said it to be Cameron Green’s.
