Tensions mount between CSK and RCB over “idli dosa”. There can only be one way in which the following incident- however unwanted- be described. That’s provided the right words or sentiments to explain the said incident aren’t bad blood or enmity.
So then what are we left with? Perhaps, it’s not a word- but a phrase. A funnily unwanted episode.
That’s about right. So what really happened on the part of CSK that’s causing them unease, apparently, lest you ignore it, because of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru?
Tensions between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru have gone beyond cricket after a small controversy during their recent IPL match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
CSK have filed a complaint against RCB after a stadium DJ played a “Dosa, idli, sambhar, chutney” song during the game. The Chennai team felt the song was not in good taste and said it stereotyped and mocked their identity and culture. This has upset the franchise and added some heat to the rivalry.

The clash between these two teams is already one of the biggest in the Indian Premier League, and moments like this only make it more intense.
Not some cricketing action per se
This one was an off the ground occurrence!
How else would you even summarise it?
While most of the focus is usually on what happens on the field, this incident shows how things outside the game can also create headlines.
Here’s what makes it even interesting Interestingly, something similar happened last year at Chepauk, CSK’s home ground.
During that match, a song with the same phrase was played as a fun dig at RCB’s Jitesh Sharma, who had used the line in an interview earlier. Back then, it was seen as light-hearted banter.
This time, however, CSK have taken it more seriously. It will be interesting to see if the league steps in or if the issue settles down on its own as the tournament continues.
