Former German footballer Mesut Ozil heaped praise on Portuguese football star and his former teammate in Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo in his latest interview. Ozil called Ronaldo the "greatest footballer in the world" and also acknowledged him for breaking several records in the game. Notably, both Ronaldo and Ozil have been teammates for Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013. 

Cristiano Ronaldo has played for Madrid from 2009 to 2018 while Mesut Ozil was a part of the club for three years from 2010 to 2013 and has played with the Portuguese footballer in these three years. “He is the greatest player in the history of football. He has broken all the records,” Ozil said about Ronaldo in his latest interview as shown in the video below.

I see a lot of myself in Arda Güler: Mesut Ozil

In his interview, Mesut Ozil also hailed Real Madrid’s young star player Arda Guler and said that the 19-year-old reminds him of his playing days. “I see a lot of myself in Arda Güler. We need to protect talents like him,” Ozil was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda. 

Notably, Mesut Ozil was regarded as one of the finest creative midfielders during his playing days for Real Madrid and Germany. He also played a crucial role in Germany’s FIFA World Cup triumph in 2014 and the bronze medal campaign in 2010. 

On the other hand, young Real Madrid midfielder Adra Guler has also been impressive with his skills while playing for the club so far. The Turkish footballer carries a similar style of play as Mesut Ozil and has been highly rated by Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti. Guler joined the club in 2023 and has a contract till 2029. He has scored seven goals in 26 appearances for the Los Blancos so far.
