Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be present at the front row of the grid, with reigning world champion Max Verstappen in the top three.

Hamilton, who is craving for pole position this season, termed the driving parts of the new circuit to a 'B&Q car park' on Friday. Hamilton told reporters, "We don't know why we were looking faster than we were. We're not going to take a step forward; we've just got to put the work in." The seven-time world champion also termed the qualifying round as 'nerve-wracking.'

Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc said that the fans are crazy as it's awesome to be here. "It will be a tight race on Sunday, but hopefully we will finish on top". The Grammy winner even paid homage to McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo by drinking a beer from someone's shoe: affectionately dubbed a "shoey."
