The IPL 2023 fixture between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants saw a fitting end as CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni walked out to bat in the 20th over and smashed LSG's Mark Wood for two consecutive sixes. Celebrating these incredible shots, the fans lit up the MA Chidambaram Stadium with the flashlights of their mobile phones.
Thanks two Dhoni's consecutive sixes, CSK managed to post 217, the highest total in IPL 2023. For the four-time champs, Ruturaj Gaikwa and Devon Conway played valuable knocks. While the likes of Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni and Shivam Dube, chipped in with crucial cameos.

Reacting to the pitch in the mid-innings break, Devon Conway stated that spinners will be key in defending this total as it was difficult to hit slower bowlers because of the unpredictability of speeds.
He said, "It was a great start tonight, the way Rutu played- that first six was pretty special. Took the pressure off me. He is sneakily strong, holds his shape really well and uses his hands well. The slower ball into the wicket might be a good option. Pretty difficult to hit due to the unpredictability of speeds."
"With the spinners, some skid on so if we hit the right lengths batting can be difficult. Very special feeling when I got here earlier. The crowd was pretty loud, really great atmosphere and watching MS go out there for the last over was pretty special. The message has been to just go out there and enjoy ourselves," he further added.
