Former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, along with wife Sakshi Dhoni, visited his ancestral village Lwali, in Jaanti tehsil of Uttarakhand. The much-loved cricketer received a warm traditional welcome by the residents of the village. Dhoni was born and brought up in the capital city of Jharkhand, but his family hails from the small village in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand.
Having hung his boots in his international cricket career on August 15, 2020, the 42-year-old visited his ancestral home after more than two decades. The Chennai Super Kings skipper was accompanied by his wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni, where they were spotted offering prayers to their family deity.

The video of Dhoni's visit to Uttarakhand has gone viral on social media, where they were spotted offering prayers in a small village temple. Not only this, but both Sakshi and MS Dhoni obliged fans by posing with them. In another video that has been circulating on social media, the 2011 World Cup winning captain posed with some fans in the village while Sakshi could be seen touching the feet of an elderly lady.
Apart from his calm and non-conventional leadership skills, the cricketer is known for his humble attitude. After leading India to three different ICC trophies, Dhoni bid adieu to international cricket in 2020. However, he continues to lead his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.
