Chennai Super Kings former skipper MS Dhoni once again displayed his on-field brilliance during Chennai Super Kings’ game against Sunrisers Hyderabad as he delivered a successful set-up plan to dismiss Travis Head early in the game. Withstanding a brutal form in the ongoing IPL season, Travis Head was restricted to his second consecutive low score as he miscued a pre-planned Tushar Deshpande delivery straight to Daryl Mitchell at deep mid-wicket.
In their reverse fixture game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the home side CSK posted an indenting total of 212/3, thanks to the captain’s knock by Ruturaj Gaikwad and splendid innings by Daryl Mitchell and Shivam Dube. Coming in to chase, Hyderabad stifled early as Deshpande scalped three early wickets to keep the Cummins-led side on the bay.
Opening the innings, Australian explosive southpaw Head started blazingly as he raced to 13 in just six deliveries when MS Dhoni pulled off another brilliant display of mind. He adjusted the Kiwi all-rounder at the exact location where the ball landed after touching the bat of Travis Head in the very next delivery, thus winning the mind games from the visiting side.

Following the win, the Chennai Super Kings moved to the 3rd position in the points table with five wins in nine games to their name. They need three definite wins more to seal their 13th play-offs spot in the history of the IPL.
On the other hand, two back-to-back defeats have hit the Sunrisers Hyderabad campaign as they have now experienced four defeats in nine games and are placed in fourth place. The 2016 champions lost their plot against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their last encounter too.
