Napoli fans flooded the streets after the team clinched the Serie A title for the first time in 33 years. The 1-1 draw at Udinese helped the team seal its third championship after 1987 and 1990. The Stadio Diego Armando Maradona was open for the fans to watch the game against Udinese, and a crowd of more than 50,000 showed up. The decisive goal in the second half was scored by Victor Osimhen.

Following the team at the Dacia Arena in Udine, the Napoli fans stormed the field and fans celebrated the historic victory with fireworks, songs and flares. The skipper of the winning team, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, has now joined the club with the late football great Diego Maradona, the skipper of the 1987 and 1990 winning team. After his victory he said, “To be compared to him, to be the captain after Maradona and to lift the Scudetto, I just have no words. “This isn’t my title, it belongs to every player and the people who worked to make our dream come true.”

Luciano Spalleti was quite emotional following the victory and said that Diego was watching over them as they won the trophy. He said, “Seeing Neapolitans happy is enough to give you a sense of that joy they are feeling.” He further added, “These people will look to this moment when life gets hard, they have every right to celebrate like this. You feel a bit more relaxed knowing that you’ve given them this moment of happiness.”
