On Friday, December 27, the Rohit Sharma-led Team India finally bundled out the hosts, Australia at the score of 474 runs in the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. Entering the fourth BGT 2024-25 Test with the series levelled 1-1, Pat Cummins-led side won the toss and opted to bat first. On the back of a Test century from Steve Smith and 50-plus scores from the top order including Sam Konstas, Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne, the side posted a formidable total on the board.

For the visitors, Jasprit Bumrah once again shone with the ball, picking up four wickets, whereas Ravindra Jadeja scalped three wickets. Akash Deep claimed two wickets, Washington Sundar also founded himself among the wickets, claiming one. After dismissing the hosts, the Men in Blue took the field, but skipper Rohit Sharma has a forgettable outing, getting out at the score of three.

Nathan Lyon trolls Rohit Sharma’s decision for opening despite KL Rahul’s decent run

After Rohit Sharma was dismissed off Pat Cummin’s over, it was KL Rahul who walked out to take the field. KL Rahul’s change in batting position despite being India’s highest run-getter in the first three Tests of BGT 2024-25, got Nathan Lyon talking. As KL Rahul was adjusting his stance in the middle, Nathan Lyon took a sly dig at the Indian batter.

The legendary Australia spinner sledged KL Rahul saying, “What wrong did you do to bat one down”. However, the video of this incident went viral in no time, it backfired at Rohit Sharma’s decision to move at the top of the order in order to open alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal.
