Notably, if Shafali & Co. managed to lift the trophy, it will be a historic occasion as India will be the winner of the tournament’s first ever-edition.
The senior team has never won a single ICC title in history having lost the final of the 2005-and 2017-Women’s Cricket World Cup as well as the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Interestingly, Shafali and Richa Ghosh were part of the team that lost the summit clash to Australia in the presence of a record crowd at Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2020.
Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra is gearing up to participate in Asian Games 2023 after missing Commonwealth Games due to injury.
