15 months after his historic triumph, Neeraj Chopra revisited Japan's National Stadium arena for the first time on the occasion of a commemorative ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics games. The event was created to celebrate all those people who worked behind the scenes for the smooth sailing of the Tokyo Olympics.

The Marquee sporting event was pushed by one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and was still majorly affected by the virus in 2021. In this ceremony, Chopra recreated his gold-medal-winning javelin throw with a lot of other athletes who gained glory in Tokyo. Chopra posted a video of this event on his Twitter account.

Chopra also had a caption for the clip, which thanked the various Olympic committees who came together for the creation of the event. The tweet said, "Had a great time at the #Tokyo2020 Commemoration Ceremony today, and it was a special feeling being back at the stadium where it all changed for me. Thank you to @iocmedia,@gorin, and @Tokyo2020 for the invite!”

After winning the gold, Neeraj took almost a year-long break but has returned even stronger. He won the silver medal at the 2022 World Championship and also went on to become the first Indian to win a Diamond League event earlier this year. Neeraj could not defend his Commonwealth Games gold medal in Birmingham due to an injury. Similarly, he couldn’t participate in the National Games in Gujarat as he wanted to rest after another busy season.
