Standing on the brink of elimination, Babar Azam-led Pakistan is taking on Netherlands in the 29th match of the T20 World Cup 2022 hoping to register a victory by huge margin. Pakistan had a horrific start to their World Cup campaign as India notched up nail-biting victory in the opening clash, followed by Zimbabwe pulling of unprecedented results in the second clash.

The ongoing clash against Netherlands is a must-win for Pakistan as they have already suffered back-to-back defeat in first two games. While Netherlands opted to bat first, Pakistan bowlers wasted no time in firming their grip in the game. Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi bagged his first wicket in the ICC tournament as he dismissed Netherlands opener Stephan Myburgh (6 off 11) in the 3rd over of the game. While Bas de Leede joined Max O'Dowd in the middle seeking to rescue his side, the 22-year-old was soon retired hurt following a nasty blow from Haris Rauf.

It all happened in the 6th over of the game when Rauf bowled a 142 kmph short delivery which got a surprising bounce from the pitch. As the batter tried to swipe it away, the ball went on to hit the helmet. The Pakistan player rushed up to him as the batter took off his helmet. Soon, Netherlands physio was out in the middle to check on his batter, but Bas de Leede had to walk off the field, a slight cut on his cheek right below the left eye was visible.
