New Zealand won the second and final Test match of the series by the barest of margins after following on in Wellington on Tuesday (28 February). The hosts posted a target of 258 runs but the dramatic scenes in Wellington left New Zealand draw the series 1-1 against England.

Neil Wagner was the star of the day as he took the decisive wicket of England all-rounder James Anderson with wicketkeeper Tom Blundell pulling off a brilliant diving catch. The celebration of this ecstatic win is now doing rounds of the internet with the wicket of Anderson.

Talking more about the match, New Zealand became the third team after England and India to win a Test match after following on. The five-day match was nothing short of a topsy-turvy ride as the visitors posted 435/8 before declaring the innings. They then bowled out the hosts for 209, but former skipper Kane Williamson got back the hosts into the game with his 132-run knock.

England wobbled on the final day of the second Test as they lost four wickets for just 27 runs. The crucial partnership between Joe Root and Ben Stokes also came to an end with the chances looking bleak for the visitors. But the make and break wicket of James Anderson led the series come to a close with a draw.
