Niki Prasad, the Delhi Capitals player, took a brilliant catch to dismiss Kiran Navgire of UP Warriorz during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After a decent powerplay of bowling from Delhi Capitals, Kiran Navgire tried to smash Arundhati Reddy over the deep square leg boundary for a maximum, but she could only find Niki Prasad, who dived forward to complete the catch successfully.
The best part about the catch from Niki Prasad was the composure under the high ball from her, which allowed her to move forward with conviction in the last second when the ball seemingly got away from her. The captain of the victorious Indian cricket team in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup became the player of the match in her debut WPL 2024 appearance at the start of the season, and she has been exceptional for Delhi Capitals right throughout.

After the conclusion of the first 10 overs in the UP Warriorz innings, they reached 69/3 with Tahlia McGrath holding fort for her side alongside Shweta Sehrawat, who is still new to the crease. With no wins in their first two matches of the WPL 2025 season, UP Warriorz would be hoping for some real impetus in their batting innings in the second half, to have a best chance at defeating Delhi Capitals, who are aiming to go top of the table.
