Los Angeles Clippers' forward Norman Powell was involved in a horrific collision in the 112-106 win over the Detroit Pistons, leaving the 30-year-old bloodied on the court. Led by Paul George (33 points) and Kawahi Leonard (24 points), the Clippers continued their dominant run with their 20th home win of the NBA 2023-24 season.
But in the fourth quarter with over five minutes remaining, Cade Cunningham zoomed into traffic for a layup attempt. As Cunningham missed the shot, Powell, Ausar Thompson and Jalen Duren all jumped up for a rebound. However, before Powell could land on the floor, Duren's elbow hit the former Raptors star's forehead.

After this terrible collision, Norman Powell was down on the court, holding his head which was oozing out blood. After being escorted by the medics, He was later provided with stitches. As per the latest report by ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk, he is doing okay after being attended by the team doctors and receiving a few stitches.

After the game, Paul George had some praiseful words for the Pistons, who have made some drastic improvements over the last few games. Speaking to the press, George said, “Give the Pistons credit. They’re playing well over the past three, four games. This is one of those tough games, play early (in the day) against a young team and you got to be ready for them.
“I thought they were ready to come out. We had to make the adjustments. I thought playing the small ball helped us with creating energy and that was just the turning point of the game,” he continued.
