The right-handed batsman has been a revelation for Men in Green so far, having played a key role in two of the three wins for Babar Azam and Co. He played a fiery cameo of 27* in 12 balls against the Kiwis before playing a breathtaking knock of 25* off 7 against Afghanistan.

The 30-year-old notably smashed 4 sixes in the penultimate over off Karim Janat, which got him praises from the whole cricket fraternity for producing such a blistering knock in pressure situation. From fans criticizing his selection in the Pakistan squad to becoming a hero of the entire nation, Asif Ali has certainly turned around his career in a matter of few days.

Asif Ali came to World Cup with a reputation of hitting big sixes

It must be noted that one of the main reasons for Asif Ali's selection in the Pakistan side is his unique ability and skill of hitting big sixes. The right-handed batsman has shown glimpses of his talent in Pakistan Super League, which is why it didn't surprise people who were aware of his potential, which includes skipper Babar Azam.

"He (Asif Ali) is known for this and I was confident pre-tournament itself that he would deliver when needed," Babar said after the Afghanistan match.

Amid so much praise, there is one video which has gone viral on social media recently which gives another demonstration of Asif Ali's raw power. The footage is from a tape-ball cricket match where the explosive batsman can be seen literally smashing the bowlers all over the park.

The 30-year-old is known for staying back in his crease and hitting down the ground, which is something that can also be seen in this video. While there are doubts about his ability against the short-pitch deliveries, Ali certainly played some mesmerizing pull shots as well presumably giving an idea of what can be expected of him in future.
