In the Round of 16 game between France and Poland, veteran French striker Olivier Giroud created history. The AC Milan forward became the highest goal scorer for Les Bleus with his left-footed goal in the 44th minute. The former Chelsea star now has 52 goals for the French national team, one more than legend Thierry Henry.
Talking about the goal, Kylian Mbappe received a short pass from the midfield at the edge of the box, which he precisely threaded through the defence to find a charging Olivier Giroud. With the ball at his feet, the 36-year-old took two touches and smashed it past Polish gloveman Wojciech Szczęsny.
