The whole world is celebrating International Women's Day and the women cricketers are also doing their bit. They are celebrating the big day on the field. On a day dedicated to Women around the globe, Pakistan Women's cricket team captain Bismah Maroof set an example and showed that a woman does not need to give up her career in order to look after her family.

Playing her second international match after childbirth, the Pak skipper scored a half-century and then shared a beautiful moment with her newborn daughter, Fatima. During the World Cup match against Australia, the batter dedicated her half-century to the new baby by doing the cradle celebration. After completing her fifty, the batter gestured towards the stands where her baby was with Bismah's mother.

The Pakistan Women's skipper led her team from the front against Australia as she scored an unbeaten 78 to power her team to a respectable total. During her 122-ball knock, the skipper smashed eight boundaries. In the process, she became the first Pakistani player to score a half-century against Australia in ODI World Cup. Although her team lost, Maroof's effort was applaudable. Maroof was well aided by Aliya Riaz who also scored a half-century. The all-rounder scored 53 off 109 balls with the help of four boundaries. She also stitched a 99-run partnership with the captain.

Australia win comprehensively

Talking about the result of the game, Australia won the game comprehensively. 191 was always going to be a tough score to defend against a star-studded Australian batting lineup. Captain Alyssa Healy led the charge for Australia as she scored a brisk half-century (72 off 79). Elysse Perry and Beth Mooney finished the game for Australia with a 40-run partnership. Mooney hit the winning runs with the help of a boundary off Nida Dar. With this win, Australia women have made two in two wins and sit at the top of the table with four points.
