After the India men’s hockey team defeated Uzbekistan by 16-0 in their Asian Games 2023 opener, PR Sreejesh was spotted hilariously photobombing Harmanpreet Singh, during an exclusive interview, on September 24, Sunday. The Indian captain was reviewing the emphatic win for the three-time Asiad champions, when this moment occurred out of nowhere at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium in Hangzhou.
For the unversed, Lalit Upadhayay and Varun Kumar scored four goals each against the clueless Uzbekistan defence. Mandeep Singh finished his day with a hat-trick, while Abhishek, Amit Rohidas, Sukhjeet, Shamsher Singh, and Sanjay found themselves on the scoresheet once.
NNIS Sports posted a video of the exclusive interview with Harmanpreet Singh on their official Twitter account, wherein PR Sreejesh, one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, photobombed him in a hilarious manner at the beginning. When the Indian captain asked his teammate to come and talk in front of the camera, he got a response, “Abey camera mein aa, hum log background, background this side (You come in front of the camera, we are good in the background this side).”

Shortly afterward, the question about Harmanpreet Singh not playing against Uzbekistan was put in front of him, to which he talked about the minor injury in the right knee sustained during the first training session in preparation for the Asian Games 2023. The defender also seemed hopeful about taking part in the next match of Team India in the men’s hockey competition against Singapore on September 26, Tuesday.
