Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, and Roger Federer, the 20-time Grand Slam singles champion, paid a visit to the SW19 to shine the spotlight on the training of ball boys and girls ahead of Wimbledon 2023. During this special event at the All England Club, they also engaged in a mixed doubles match, in which the princess managed to beat the legendary tennis player.
A video featuring Kate Middleton, Roger Federer, and the ball boys and girls was released by Wimbledon on their official YouTube channel earlier today, on June 25. It had the game between the two dignitaries, along with an in-depth look at the program for teens to catch balls at the upcoming tournament in SW19.
The 41-year-old princess was quoted as saying at the beginning of the video, “Wimbledon is renowned for its amazingly professional ball boys and ball girls. The amount of work it takes, it's incredible to see it behind the scenes.”

Then, Kate Middleton, who was sporting all whites, walked into No. 3 Court at SW19 to greet Roger Federer first and foremost. Moments later, he asked her, “Shall we play some tennis?” To which she responded, “Yes, please.”
The two famous personalities played a very short mixed doubles match, which ended after Kate Middleton managed to play a winning shot down the line. It made Roger Federer gasp in excitement, “I think it was on the line. Amazing!”
In the meantime, the Princess of Wales also asked the Swiss tennis legend for tips on her serve. She said, “Any tips on my serve at the same time would be very helpful,” which made him compliment her instead with words, which read, “The serve looks good.”
