It has been a historic night for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as they went on to win their maiden UEFA Champions League title on June 1. Showing sheer dominance in the final, PSG defeated Inter MIlan by 5-0 at Allianz Arena in Munich and inked their name in the pages of history. This was also the highest margin of victory in the history of the Champions League.
All the players and management of PSG were riding high on the rollercoaster of emotions and didn’t leave any chance to celebrate this historic win. After the final, the members of the club were seen having the moments of a lifetime. In a video shared by PSG on their social media, all the players and other members were seen jamming together and vibing with the trophy. They kept singing “Olé, olé champion!" It a popular in term in football which is used to celebrate victories.
PSG deserved to win: Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi
It was a tough loss to digest for Inter Milan as they were nowhere in the game against PSG and couldn’t score a single goal in a big UCL final. However, their manager Simone Inzaghi didn’t shy away in accepting a heavy defeat and lauded PSG for their dominance performance in the title clash.
"I think PSG deserved to win," Inzaghi said in the press conference after the match.
"There is great disappointment and bitterness because the boys have had a great run this season, and it's hard to end with no titles. As a coach, I'm still proud. We're not satisfied with tonight's game. We approached it badly... We didn't play the final in the best way, but I thanked the boys,” he further added.
