Randy Orton was seen delivering a tough time to the newly-crowned WWE champion John Cena, who won the title after beating Cody Rhodes in the 41st edition of Wrestlemania. With this achievement, Cena shattered the legendary Ric Flair’s record of being a 16-time world champion by bagging the world championship title for the 17th time. Orton also participated in Wrestlemania 41 but couldn’t face Kevin Owens, who failed to show up in the competition due to an injury. The veteran wrestler faced Joe Hendry in Owen’s spot and claimed a victory through pin fall.

A day after Wrestlemania 41, when Cena concluded his address to spectators at Monday-night RAW, Orton attacked him from behind and performed his legendary RKO move on the 47-year-old. After Cena’s fall, Orton took the WWE Championship belt and raised it. Orton’s pose with the iconic belt indicates that he might make himself a contender for the WWE championship. Both Cena and Orton are engaged in a rivalry for more than two decades. Taking to X, Orton posted the clip of his invasion on Cena and wrote, "Hello, old friend."

Cena will hang his boots this year

Cena will retire from WWE at the end of this year. At money in the bank 2024, he dazed the world with his announcement. The veteran said he will be active in the WWE family but won’t be serving it as a wrestler anymore therefore, his appearance in Wrestlemania 41 was his last as an active performer.

Back in June 2002, he made his WWE debut against Kurt Angle. Despite losing the contest, he won the hearts of fans for his excellent moves and combating potential. Cena has clashed with Orton on 84 instances, with the former winning 40 times while the latter emerging victorious in 44 matches.
