Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant was spotted flying a kite during their encounter against the Mumbai Indians in the 43rd match of the IPL 2024 in Delhi. The incident happened during the second innings of the match when Rohit Sharma was taking the strike on the third ball of the innings.

After winning the toss on a sunny afternoon in Delhi, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya decided to field first on a short and flat Arun Jaitley deck. However, the decision didn’t come in handy for the five-time winners as the home side took the Mumbai bowlers to the cleaners and posted a momentous score of 257/4 after 20 overs.

Riding on the exploits of Australian opener Jake Fraser-McGurk (84) and Tristan Stubbs’ unbeaten 48, Delhi displayed the routing display as they hammered the eighth 250+ score of the ongoing IPL season against the relatively inexperienced Mumbai Indians’ bowling unit.

Coming into the chase, it was just the third delivery off the Lizaad Williams’ over when the play was halted due to the occurrence of the kite in the middle. Former MI skipper Rohit Sharma handed over the kite to the Delhi skipper as Pant was seen flying the kite for a brief time before he handed it over to the match officials.
