Kuldeep Yadav has been an incredible revelation this season as he has returned to wicket-taking form with a bang. Against Kolkata Knight Riders, Yadav has taken four wickets in just three overs while giving away just 14 runs.

Two of the four dismissals took place in the 13th over when he dismissed the KKR captain Shreyas Iyer and followed it by getting Andre Russell out for a two-ball duck. DC captain Rishabh Pant was involved in two key dismissals where he sent back Iyer with an incredible catch on a googly which turned away and stayed low outside off.

Iyer slashed hard the ball which took an edge and darted towards Pant who grabbed an unbelievable catch.

Kuldeep then tossed up the ball towards Andre Russell who ran the wicket and completely missed the ball. Pant behind the stumps was ready but could only manage a sporadic stumping. So far in the 2022 IPL, Yadav has so far taken 17 wickets while bowling at an average of 14.12. He is also second in the race for the Purple Cap behind fellow India teammate Yuzvendra Chahal who has also made an incredible comeback this season.

DC captain Rishab Pant had also praised Yadav for his incredible bowling performances this season. While speaking to the press after DC defeated Lucknow, Pant said, “He has been working hard on his bowling. Since he has been out with injury. Ek hota hai na ke chance nahi milta, he was not getting the chance, he is getting more chances now.”

“We are trying to back him as much as possible, we are giving him confidence so that he can bowl with his own bowling style, we are trying to capitalise on that and he is doing well,” Pant said after the game

“Credit for my performance in this IPL goes to Rishabh,” Yadav

Similarly, Yadav has also complimented Pant for his captaincy skills and compared it to Ms Dhoni. While talking in the DC Podcast, Kuldeep said, “I feel Rishabh is showing a few glimpses of MS Dhoni's characteristics behind the stumps.”

“He guides well and stays calm in the field. Wicketkeepers play a big role in the success of spinners. The credit for my performance in this IPL goes to Rishabh as well. We have a good understanding now.”
