Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is currently away from the national duties as he requested Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to rule him out of the first ODI of the three-match series against Australia. Sharma cited family commitments as the reason of his absence from the first match of the ODI leg of the tour.

 

However, the reason of Rohit Sharma’s absence from the first match has been revealed. The 35-year-old is currently attending his brother-in-law’s wedding. The Team India skipper in a video which is going viral across social platforms can be seen shaking a leg on Bollywood song from the movie Good Newwz ‘Lal Ghagra’.

Talking about Rohit Sharma’s performance in the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023, the 35-year-old scored 242 runs in the four Tests. The two sides will now lock horns in the three-match ODI series, starting March 17 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. In his absence, all-rounder Hardik Pandya will lead the side in the opening ODI of the series against Australia.
