In the second match of Sunday’s double-header, the El Classico of Indian Premier League (IPL) returns with the two five-time champions, Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings locking horns at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Earlier in the match, it was the home skipper Hardik Pandya, who won the toss and invited the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led CSK to bat first.
With Ajinkya Rahane and Rachin Ravindra starting the proceedings for CSK in the middle, the reigning champions were handed an early jolt in Rahane departing after having scored only five runs. With Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube then stitching a crucial partnership, in the 12th over of the CSK inning, Rohit Sharma was involved in an embarrassing moment.
With CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad going full over deep mid-wicket off Akash Madhwal on the fourth delivery of the 12th over, missed to cross the boundary rope. The former MI skipper, who was placed close there, ran to his right and attempted a full dive in order to catch hold of the ball, but in the process, his trousers came off, video of which is going viral on social media.
