Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh was up celebrating as the five-time champions managed to dismiss Chennai Super Kings star Ruturaj Gaikwad. After a poor batting performance, Mumbai continued their struggles with the ball as Gaikwad and Devon Conway got off to another blistering start.

In an attempt to stop this opening onslaught, Rohit Sharma brought on MI's best bowler Piyush Chawla, who managed to bring the required breakthrough on his first ball. The veteran leggie dragged down the ball short on the off-stump which managed to get a top edge off Gaikwad. The ball went high up and was comfortably taken by Ishan Kishan. As the camera panned towards the crowd, Ritika Sajdeh was overjoyed with this dismissal and was up celebrating.

But this wicket didn't lead to more breakthroughs as Mumbai Indians eventually lost the game.  Devon Conway and Shivam Dube batted brilliantly well and carried CSK to a six-wicket win. Sri Lankan fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana won the Players of the Match award for his stunning spell of 4-0-15-3.

Reacting to his performance,  Pathirana said,  "My journey with CSK started from last year, I came in as a replacement and played only two games, but this season I am playing more and I am happy. They (team management) give me a lot of confidence. This is my best bowling figures in T20 cricket and I am happy with the performance. I am a die hard fan of Cristiano Ronaldo (referring to his celebrations after picking a wicket)."
