What a journey it has already been for S Sreesanth. While it may have looked like a dead-end for the Kerala pacer as far as his cricketing career is concerned even until a few years ago, Sreesanth has been determined to make a comeback and has still not lost hope of playing in the Indian Premier League.

The 39-year-old had made the cut for the list of players to be auctioned. However, he was overlooked by the ten franchises and his name was not even called in the accelerated auction suggesting that no one considered the pacer for a place in the squad. But the Kerala Express who has already seen a lot of ups and downs in his life took it sportingly and has shared a video of himself singing an inspirational Kishore Kumar song from the Bollywood movie Imtihan.

The song which Sreesanth was heard singing was: "Ruk jana nahin tu kahin haar ke" which roughly translates to "never stop the pursuit of your dreams."

Check out the video here:

Sreesanth may not have been picked in IPL auctions but he is set to make a comeback in red-ball cricket after being named in the Kerala squad for Ranji Trophy 2021-22. Apart from Sreesanth, the Kerala squad featured as many as four debutants all of whom have performed well in the age-group cricket competition before receiving the call-up. The four newcomers are 19-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman Varun Nayanar, 17-year-old pacer Eden Apple Tom, right-arm pacer Fanoos F and opener Anand Krishnan.

However, there are a couple of big names missing from the squad. While Robin Uthappa, it is being learned, has opted out of this season's Ranji Trophy, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammed Azharuddeen has been rested.

Kerala squad for Ranji Trophy 2021-22:

Sachin Baby (c), Vishnu Vinod (wk), Anand Krishnan, Rohan Kunnumel, Vatsal Govind, Rahul P, Salman Nizar, Jalaj Saxena, Sijomon Joseph, Akshay KC, Mithun S, Basil NP, Nideesh MD, Manu Krishnan, Basil Thampi, Fanoos F, Sreeshanth S, Varun Nayanar, Vinoop Manoharan, Eden Apple Tom.
