The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is underway and so is some thrilling cricketing action. The Sunday evening saw defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Punjab Kings at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. After winning the toss, CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja went with the trend and opted to bowl.

His bowlers proved their captain's decision right by striking early in the innings. CSK managed to dismiss two Punjab batters in the first two overs of the innings. But it was a disaster for them for the next few overs as they conceded boundaries, dropped catches and looked helpless in the middle. However, later in the innings, they made a comeback by taking some quick wickets and reduced Punjab to 151/6 in 15.4 overs.

With the tailenders batting, it seemed CSK will be able to restrict Punjab under 180 but some lusty blows from Rahul Chahar brought some quick runs for Punjab. A mistake from Ruturaj Gaikwad also helped Chahar's cause. In the second last over of the Punjab innings, Chahar threw his bat at one aide delivery from Pretorious and the ball flew over covers. Ruturaj Gaikwad standing at the roped sensed an opportunity and caught the ball but unfortunately for him, he touched the ropes after catching the ball eventually giving six runs to the batter,

Despite losing control at the fag end of the innings, Punjab rode on the fabulous knock from Liam Livingston and posted 180/8 in their quota of 20 overs. Apart from Livingston, Jitesh Sharma also made a handy contribution with his 17-ball 26. Kagiso Rabada (12 off 12 balls) and Rahul Chahar (12 off 8 balls) also chipped in with some crucial runs. Earlier, Dhawan and Livingston formed a 95-run stand in just 52 balls to take PBKS to a flaying start.
