After winning the toss and opting to bat first, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings posted 167 in their 20 overs. None of the CSK batters could breach the 30-run mark as they fell mostly at the score ranging between 20-25. Skipper MS Dhoni who came at the crease in the penultimate over also added 20 runs off nine deliveries which included two maximums and a boundary.

Dhoni’s first six came off Khaleel Ahmed’s over on the 18.3 delivery. Dhoni pulled it off in time a slower ball on length to clear the short boundary over deep mid-wicket. As this six crossed the boundary, the cameraman was quick to take the camera towards wife Sakshi Dhoni and daughter Ziva. The two were seen enjoying this moment as they cheered for MS Dhoni and his team.

Earlier in the game, fans went berserk as crowd chants of Dhoni…Dhoni emerged as the legend took the field after Ambati Rayudu was sent packing. As the 41-year-old walked into bat, the entire stadium in Chennai echoed with the chants of Dhoni…Dhoni. Video of the same is now doing rounds on social media.
Talking about the franchise’s performance in the IPL 2023, they currently sit at the second place with six wins from 11 games, only behind defending champion Gujarat Titans who take the top spot with 16 points.
