The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has continued to live up to its expectations with entertaining encounters every day. In Saturday's double-header of the IPL 2023, while Chennai Super Kings beat Delhi Capitals to confirm their Playoffs berth, Lucknow Super Giants beat Kolkata Knight Riders to seal a spot.

After winning the toss, MS Dhoni-led CSK opted to bat first. The side posted 223/3 in their 20 overs, courtesy Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway's knock at the top of the order. Although David Warner played a captain's knock but his efforts went in vain as they finished on the losing side in what was their last match of 2023 edition. With this win, CSK sealed their playoffs berth after a dismal outing in the 2022 edition and will now play Qualifier 1 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Meanwhile talking about the second match of the day, Kolkata Knight Riders finished their 2023 campaign with a loss which came at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants by one-run. After opting to bowl first, Nitish Rana-led side restricted LSG to 176/8 in the 20 overs. While Rinku Singh played a cameo scoring 67 off 3 deliveries, his knock ended in vain as LSG beat KKR by a small margin of one-run, going to their second consecutive playoffs.
