Desert Vipers skipper Sam Curran went on smash a gigantic six of 117 meters in the final of the International League T20 (ILT20) 2025 against Dubai Capitals at Dubai International Stadium. During his 62-run knock in the first innings, Curran smashed the Capitals fast bowler Scott Kuggeleijn for a massive six at mid-on that went on to cover the distance of 117 meters. 

Sam Curran went on to play a captain’s knock of 62*(33) runs smashing five fours and three sixes, as Desert Vipers gave Dubai Capitals a target of 190 runs to win the third edition of the ILT20. Batting first, the Vipers posted 189 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs.

Max Holden, Sam Curran guide Desert Vipers to competitive total in ILT20 2025 final

Coming to bat first after losing the toss, Desert VIpers didn’t get a good start as they lost two wickets for 34 runs in 4.2 overs. After that, Max Holden took charge of the innings and top scored with 76(51) runs hitting 12 boundaries. After that, skipper Sam Curran gave finishing touches with 62*(33) runs along with Azam Khan who remained unbeaten on 27*(13) with three fours and a maximum. For Dubai Capitals, Obed McCoy took two wickets while Haider Ali and Sikandar Raza scalped a wicket each. 

Chasing the winning target, Dubai Capitals had a poor start as they lost three wickets for just 31 runs in 4.5 overs. However, opener Shai Hope is still at the crease along with Rovman Powell taking the innings forward. Desert Vipers and Dubai Capitals have previously qualified for the ILT20 one time each. However, both of them finished as the runners-up. Now, one of the side will finally lift their maiden ILT20 title in 2025.
