The IPL 2023 fixture between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans got off to a poor start for the home side as Yashasvi Jaiswal got run out in horrendous fashion. After losing Jos Buttler, Jaiswal seeming looked to continue his stellar form in the tournament.
But facing Rashid Khan, Samon Sanju pushed the ball towards the short third man and Jaiswal thought he had a run there. Hence the Mumbai batter went for the run and was already at the strikers' end. With both batters at one end, the fielder had ample time to calmly throw the ball to Rashid for the runout. After scoring a brilliant 100, Jaiswal only managed to score 14 runs in 11 balls against GT.

After this runout, the sky fell off for the home side as they lost wickets at regular intervals. For the Gujarat Titans, the Afghani duo of Noor Ahmad and Rashid Khan combined to pick up five wickets in their eight overs while giving away 52 runs.
Other than this pair, all Titans' bowlers barring Mohit Sharma, managed to pick up wickets and helped Rajasthan reduce to 118 in 17.5 overs. For the Royals, captain Sanju Samson top-scored with a score of 30 in 20 balls with three fours and one glorious six.
While no other Rajasthan batter managed to score over 20 runs with Trent Boult being the second-highest scorer with 15 runs in 11 balls with one six and one four. This batting performance is a massive letdown for the 2008 champs as they managed to chase down 177 in stunning fashion against Gujarat in their previous meeting.
