The Indian cricketer Sanju Samson was spotted playing football at a local sevens tournament in Kerala after earning a much-deserved break from international cricket. The 29-year-old had scored his first hundred for India in the third and final ODI against South Africa at the Boland Park in Paarl, to help the visitors secure a 2-1 series result.

In the viral video, shared by Johns (@CricCrazyJohns) on his official X account, Sanju Samson had put the ball beside the corner flag to fulfil the corner duties for his local sevens team. He also dribbled the ball with great ease, making the opposition players put in a challenge to stop him from making further progress.

Notably, during the three-match ODI series, Sanju Samson scored 120 runs in two innings at an average of 60 and a strike rate of 87.59. After failing to capitalise on his opportunity at St George’s Park in Gqeberha in the second ODI, getting dismissed for just 12 off 23, he turned the corner in the next match against a highly impressive South African bowling attack.
On a tough pitch at the Boland Park in Paarl, Sanju Samson put together an innings of substance, scoring 108 off 114 with six fours and three maximums to help India post a formidable total of 296/8 on the board. On the back of Arshdeep Singh’s four wickets, the Indian cricket team managed to defend the total successfully by 78 runs against South Africa to ensure that they won their second ODI series in the rainbow nation.
