The IPL 2023 fixture between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals saw some sublime hitting courtesy of RR captain Sanju Samson. The Kerala batter smashed 60 in 32 balls and in this incredible knock, he managed to smash World's best T20I bowler Rashid Khan for three consecutive sixes.

This magnificent feat occurred in the 13th over of the match where Samson, fended away the first ball and send smashed Khan's flat delivery over the long-off boundary. Then Sanju went on his back foot before tonking the leggie in the cow-corner region. On the fourth ball of the over, Rashid Khan sent out another short and flat ball, which deposited over long-on into the stands with a lot of power.

These three sixes were a big turning point in the game, as Sanju's knock gave other batters a chance to take some time to settle in. A beneficiary of Sanju Samson's performance was Shimron Hetmyer, who smashed a 56 in 26 balls with two fours and five sixes, carrying the Royals to a famous three-wicket win.

Reacting to this match-winning performance,  Hetmyer described this victory as  revenge for the RR's three losses against GT from last season. He said,  "I don't have any words. Difficult to win against these guys, they beat us thrice last year but today was sort of a revenge.

"I practice these situations, it helps when you practice with that mindset of knowing we are few wickets down and chasing 100 with 8 overs to go. (On Noor Ahmed bowling the last over) I was actually pretty happy, to be honest, he bowled well throughout so the first ball all I was thinking about was getting that double and take it from there."
