The Kolkata Knight Riders defeated the Delhi Capitals by 106 runs to maintain a perfect record in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Wednesday. KKR registered the second-highest total (272) by a team in IPL history against DC at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vizag. After the match, KKR co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was spotted hugging DC skipper Rishabh Pant and his teammates in a heartfelt gesture.

Shreyas Iyer's KKR won the toss and opted to bat first against the Capitals in the 16th match of the IPL 2024 and registered a mammoth total of 272 runs. All-rounder Sunil Narine ran riot in Visakhapatnam as he smashed a career-best knock of 85 in 39 balls seven fours and seven sixes.

India youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi stitched up a 104-run partnership with Narine as he smashed a half-century in his first IPL innings. The cameos from Andre Russell, Shreyas Iyer, and Rinku Singh took the score to 272. In response, DC were bowled out at 166 runs in 17.2 overs as Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs batted as lone warriors scoring 55 in 25 and 54 in 32 respectively while six batters got out under 10 runs.   Check the top betting trends on the  best betting sites in India  and apps.

After the match, KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan was spotted interacting with an upset DC side. SRK hugged and exchanged words with Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant while the Bollywood actor was spotted having a fun interaction with Kuldeep Yadav, who missed the last two matches for his side due to an injury. The meeting with SRK fueled the spirits of a disappointed DC side with ecstasy.

In the IPL 2024 standings, the Capitals are placed ninth with just one win in four games while the Knight Riders have managed the top spot with three wins in three matches. Delhi will next face the joint-record five-time champions Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 7, while Kolkata will face the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Monday, April 8.
