Pakistan Champions captain Shahid Afridi was seen at the dugout of Leicester’s Grace Road stadium after his team clinched a convincing 10-wicket win over Australia Champions in the 14th match of the World Champions League (WCL) 2025. Pakistan played an aggressive brand of cricket against the Aussies in their final league match. Bowling first after winning the toss, Pakistan bundled out Australia on 74 in 11.5 overs. Saeed Ajmal looked extraordinary with the ball and decimated Australia's batting attack. The spin wizard picked up six wickets in his 3.5-over spell. With this win, Pakistan also topped the table with nine points earned through four wins in five outings.
After Pakistan’s triumph, India Champions entered the ground to take on West Indies Champions. In a viral clip on social media, Afridi can be seen at the dugout watching India Champions players making their way into the stadium, seemingly giving them a look of utter disdain or disrespect as some would call it, which has shocked many online.

India also won their final game of the league stage in the WCL 2025 after beating West Indies comfortably by five wickets and 40 balls remaining. With the triumph, India and Pakistan were scheduled to take on each other in the semi-final, but the match got cancelled as reports have revealed that India players aren’t willing to participate in the game due to political tensions between the countries.
Shahid Afridi’s statement against the Indian Army in April 2025
In April 2025, following the Pahalgam Attack, Shahid Afridi delivered harsh comments against the Indian Army. He had called the Indian Army inept during a chat with a renowned Pakistani news channel. “You have an 8,00,000-strong army in Kashmir and this still happened. It means you are inefficient and useless if you couldn't provide security to the people,” said Afridi then while speaking to Samaa TV.
However, amidst these tumultuous developments, the second semi-final between Australia Champions and South Africa Champions is expected to be played in Birmingham on July 31.
