During the second ODI of the three-match series at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Indian fielder Shubman Gill took a sensational diving catch running backwards to dismiss Harry Brook of England. The right-handed batter was looking to go big after settling in well at the crease, but the great effort in the field from Shubman Gill on the bowling of Harshit Rana put a stop to his innings on 31 runs in 52 balls.

For the unversed, after winning the toss, Jos Buttler, the captain of England, decided to bat first, and the openers Phil Salt and Ben Duckett gave them a brilliant start in the first power play, scoring 75 runs in 10 overs. Indian spinners brought the team back into the contest as debutant Varun Chakravarthy and Ravindra Jadeja got the better of Salt and Duckett respectively, which signaled the arrival of Harry Brook to the crease.

As of this writing, England have reached 169/3 total after the completion of the 30 overs, aiming to set a target in excess of 300 runs for the formidable Indian batting lineup to chase.
