The ongoing England's new format tournament - The Hundred - is proving to be a mega success, especially for Indian women players. India's star players like Deepti Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues are playing in the tournament and are trying to make most out of the opportunity given to them.

With very little cricket played by women players in last 12 months, this tournament provides a big platform for the young girls to show their potential to the world. And it can be said without a doubt that they have blossomed in the tournament with flying colours. After Jemimah Rodrigues stole the show by scoring two back-to-back fifties, it was now time for Smriti Mandhana to step up and shine.

Smriti played a match-winning knock on Tuesday

Playing against Welsh Fire, the Southern Brave were set a target of 111 runs. It was always going to be a tricky chase and the game certainly opened up after the early dismissal of Danielle Wyatt. The onus was on opening batter Smriti Mandhana, who was herself under some pressure coming into this match on the back of scoring a duck.

However, the talented Indian player showed on Tuesday exactly why she is considered as one of the best players in women's cricket right now. Mandhana played some gorgeous shots throughout her innings, which included 5 fours and 3 sixes. The 25-year-old was absolutely flawless during her 61* run knock which came in only 39 deliveries at a strike-rate of 156.41.

To add cherry on top of the cake, the Indian batter smashed a huge six straight down the ground off the bowling of Bryony Smith to seal an emphatic 8-wicket win for Southern Brave, with 16 deliveries remaining.
