Cricket has evolved a lot from when it was first played. With the advancement in technology, the game has also started making the most of it. From bowlers’ speed to batters’ bat swing, everything can be tracked these days. But technology can be wrong at times as well. There have been many instances when a technical error has been observed.

A recent example of a technical glitch was observed in the match between India Women and England Women. In the first T20I played between the two teams on Saturday (10 September), the speed gun showed England pacer Lauren Bell bowling a 172kph delivery. The incident took place on the first ball of the first over of India's innings.

Right after Smriti Mandhana cautiously defended the delivery from Bell, the speed gun showed the speed of the delivery as 107 mph/172 kph. A Twitter shared the video with a sarcastic comment. “Women's sport is so under-appreciated. Here's Lauren Bell breaking the record for the fastest delivery ever recorded in history and Mandhana plays it like it's nothing. No fuss,” wrote the user while sharing the video

England register an easy win

Coming to the match, England Women registered an emphatic victory by nine wickets even though they were playing without a few of their main players. India posted a paltry 132/7 in their 20 overs while batting first. Scores in the 20s from Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma and Harmanpreet Kaur helped India post a decent score. However, it proved insufficient as England Women chased it down with seven overs to spare.

Sophia Dunkley starred for England with the bat as she scored an unbeaten 61 off 44 balls. Danielle Wyatt (24 off 16) and Alice Capsey (32* off 20) also helped England’s cause. However, it was Sarah Glenn who was named the player of the match for her 4/23.
