Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have utilised their hiatus before the Gujarat Titans (GT) game to spend a vacation in Maldives. SRH won their previous Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by five wickets at the MA Chidambaram and recorded their third victory in the tournament. This year, the Orange Army haven’t looked confident with only three wins in nine matches but their head coach Daniel Vettori is expecting the side to make a comeback like Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) did in 2024. After losing seven games in eight matches of IPL 2024, Bengaluru won six contests on the trot and qualified for the playoffs.

Coming back to SRH, they are now in the island country Maldives to spend a short vacation. In a video shared by SRH on X, players and coaching staff can be seen entering the resort with their family members. Captioning the clip, SRH wrote, “A warm welcome for our Risers in Maldives for their team bonding retreat.”

GT to host SRH on May 2

SRH’s next challenge is going to be stern as they will take on table-toppers GT at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium on May 2. Gujarat haven’t lost a game at their home venue after losing their opening contest against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on March 25. The Shubman Gill-led side are currently holding the top spot after winning six games in eight outings.

SRH will want their batters to fire against bowlers in the remainder of the tournament to qualify for the next round. In their previous victory against CSK in Chennai, Ishan Kishan exuded confidence with his 44-run innings that came in 34 balls. The southpaw’s knock was studded with six boundaries (five fours and a maximum). However, SRH will be concerned about their openers’ form as both Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma are struggling to deliver quality starts to the side.
