Star Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant achieved another milestone in his Test career after he reached his second consecutive hundred in the ongoing first Test against England at Headingley, Leeds. With this, Pant entered the elite list of players who have scored a hundred in both innings of a Test match. The left-handed scored 134(178) runs in the first innings and went on to reach the triple figures in the second innings as well after facing 130 deliveries.
Pant, who performed a backflip after reaching his hundred in the first innings, came up with a simple celebration after reaching the milestone in the second innings. However, former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar who was present at the stands during that moment, requested Pant to repeat his somersault celebration with a gesture. However, Pant didn’t replicate it for now and conveyed that he will do it in the next game through his gesture.

Talking about the match, after taking a small lead of six runs in the first innings, India now aim to get another big score in the second innings and give England a tough target to chase. Coming to bat in the second innings, the visitors were reduced to 92/3 on day four with KL Rahul at the crease. After that, Rishabh Pant joined Rahul at the crease as the duo put up a partnership of 195 runs for the fourth wicket.
Rahul was first to reach his hundred as he achieved the milestone in 202 balls. After a few moments, Pant also went on to scored his second ton in the same Test matches in 130 balls. The left-hander got out after scoring 118 runs off 140 balls hitting 15 fours and three sixes.
