The five time champions Mumbai Indians now become the fourth team to get qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2025. The Hardik Pandya-led side defeated Delhi Capitals by 59 runs at Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday to fill the last spot in the final four of the season. Star batter Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged player of the match his unbeaten 73* runs off 43 balls. However, while receiving the award, Suryakumar showed special gesture towards presenter Harsha Bhogle.

Notably, the rain occurred during the post-match presentation ceremony due to which Suryakumar Yadav went with an umbrella to collect his player of the match award. However, when Harsha Bhogle went on to take his interview, Suryakumar showed special gesture and asked Bhogle to come under his umbrella as there was continuous drizzling.

Suryakumar Yadav dedicates his player of the match awards to his wife

Suryakumar Yadav dedicated his player of the match to wife Devisha Shetty and revealed and interesting story she told him ahead of the game. Suryakumar is currently the third highest run getter of the season amassing 583 runs from 13 matches at an average of 72.87 and strike rate of 170.46.

“It's been 13 games now. My wife told me a sweet story today. She said you've got all the awards except MoM. This award is special today. From team's point of view the knock was important, and also this trophy is for her (Devisha). She waits for such moments and we celebrate it obviously, looking forward to it,” Suryakumar said at the post-match presentation.

“Was important for a single batter to bat till the end. We knew there was one over of 15-20 runs somewhere so we had to wait till the end. The way Naman came in and shared that energy with me was also a turning point,” he further added.
