During the second T20I of the five-match T20I series, Indian batter Tilak Varma smashed English speedster Jofra Archer for three boundaries in four balls in the power play stage while in pursuit of the 166-run target. At the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Archer was bowling at a high pace with the new ball, but Varma had all the answers, using the speed to his advantage as he peppered the boundary time and again.
On the first ball of the fifth over, Tilak Varma gave himself some room, and crashed the short of a good length delivery outside the off stump towards square on the off side for four runs. The left-handed batter had anticipated the next ball to be on the stumps, which it was, and that allowed him to get across slightly before lifting it towards the deep backward square region for a six, which landed in the top tier.

After missing out on scoring a run on the third ball of the over, Tilak Varma received a bouncer from Jofra Archer, which was aimed at the leg stump line, but he managed to get away from the line of it before helping it over the wicket-keeper for another six. While India have lost a few wickets in the run chase, Varma is still fighting in the middle on 34 off 29 after the conclusion of 10 overs with the team’s scoring being 79/5.
