Tom Brady, one of the greatest NFL players of all-time, was in attendance at the Flushing Meadows, to witness the enthralling men’s singles semi-final match between Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev on September 8, Friday. When the Spanish world number one managed to complete an incredibly difficult forehand passing shot down the line against the Russian third seed, Tom Brady reacted in awe in the grandstands at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

This incredible moment happened for Carlos Alcaraz in the third set, when Daniil Medvedev was looking to hold his serve at 40-40 in the fourth game. While the 20-year-old found a way to break the serve of his opponent to win the third set, he was down two sets to one in the semi-final.

The official Twitter account of the US Open, shared the 33 second clip of the passing shot from Carlos Alcaraz, with the reaction of Tom Brady. They captioned the tweet, “This Alcaraz shot gets the Tom Brady seal of approval”.

But, after all the hard work to make a comeback in the third set, Carlos Alcaraz couldn’t sustain the high level of tennis associated with him, succumbing to a defeat in four sets against the world number three. Daniil Medvedev reached his second men’s singles final in three years at the US Open, defeating his opponent by a scoreline of 7-6(3), 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Meanwhile, in the other semi-final of the men’s singles draw, Novak Djokovic from Serbia, who is chasing the historic 24th Grand Slam title to equal the tally of Margaret Court, defeated the American Ben Shelton in straight sets by 6-3, 6-2, 7-6(4). He will be playing against Daniil Medvedev in the final on Monday at the Flushing Meadows, who had beaten him in straight sets during the championship match in 2021.
